I'm Mackenzie Davenport.
I'm a theatre director, writer, and content creator in Lincoln, Nebraska.
I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and currently attend Nebraska Wesleyan University, where I'll graduate with a BA in Theatre Arts in May. I've studied at the Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany, and lived in Tartu, Estonia for a year when I was 12. I've worked as a director for a few theatres in Lincoln, and won the Mayor's Arts Award for Youth Achievement in 2018. In 2020, I co-created Homegrown Theatre Camp, a free digital theatre camp for young people, with Blixt Locally Grown, the support of the Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment and more. In partnership with the Nebraska Children and Families Foundations and Beyond School bells, Homegrown Theatre Camp was developed into an after school program for kids across the state. I directed The Bald Soprano in Nebraska Wesleyan's 2020-2021 season, in addition to Caligula and several other directing projects there.
Outside of the rehearsal room, I spend my time designing fonts and hunting for the best new sneakers. I'm also learning French, and though I'm not very good I feel more cultured just trying. You'll usually find me watching a historical drama, or playing a strategy board game with my friends.
